Terracotta Meridian

Why We Love this

Four shapes hold the canvas: a rise of burnt terracotta, a block of near-black, a slate stone at rest, and the warm ivory that runs between them all. A single pale line travels the full height of the painting, crossing each field in turn, refusing to settle.

Nothing touches directly. Every colour is held apart by a thin painted line, so the composition reads as assembled rather than blended — shapes that share a wall without crowding one another.

The palette is warm and grounded: clay, ash, charcoal, unbleached linen. It sits easily against wood, stone, cane and plaster, and holds its own on a large empty wall where smaller work would disappear.
