A peacock turns its head, and the whole canvas opens behind it. The fan is built from long tapered strokes in carmine, deep rose and blush, cut through with olive and threaded with small gold eyes. Against a plum ground that stays warm rather than grey, the colour reads rich instead of loud. The bird itself holds the cool end — cobalt shifting to teal and violet across the neck, painted close enough to feel observed. Smooth blended oil, worked flat so the brushwork stays visible without heavy relief. Every stroke keeps its own edge and direction. Nothing here is airbrushed.
