Anchorage

A field of short blue strokes falls across a soft near-white ground, staggered at uneven heights, scattered with flecks of orange. Below it sits a deep wine maroon band with a razor-straight top edge — a few strokes overhang it and run down into the colour, left exactly as they landed.

The composition is built on two decisions: a clean masked edge, and everything above it left loose. That tension is what makes it hold a long wall. Read from across a room, it's structure and weight; up close, it's stroke variation, mixed pigment and canvas texture.

Anchorage is a panoramic piece and wants horizontal space — above a sofa, a long console, a dining sideboard, a bed with a low headboard. It carries a room on its own rather than sitting in a gallery arrangement.
